What’s the right baby carrier for you?

Different cultures have their own traditional styles of baby wearing, with variations in the types of carriers used, the way they are worn, and the significance attached to the practice. This video of Willa shows how to baby wear comfortably and be able to get a lot done with a back carry with just a towel or soft fabric. And they love it ! 🥰

Baby wearing has been practiced around the world for centuries. Some common types include:

1. Ring Sling: A ring sling is a long piece of fabric with two rings sewn into one end. The fabric is threaded through the rings to create a secure pouch for the baby to sit in. Ring slings are adjustable and can be used for newborns up to toddlers.

2. Wrap: A wrap is a long piece of fabric that is wrapped around the caregiver’s body to create a secure pouch for the baby. Wraps come in different lengths and materials, allowing for various carrying positions and styles.

3. Soft Structured Carrier (SSC): A soft structured carrier is a structured baby carrier with padded shoulder straps and a waist belt.

4. Mei Tai: A Mei Tai is a traditional Asian carrier with a rectangular body panel and long straps that are tied around the caregiver’s body. Mei Tais are versatile and can be used for front, back, and hip carries

5. Backpack Carrier: A backpack carrier is a structured carrier with a frame that allows the baby to be carried on the caregiver’s back.

Each type has its own advantages and may be preferred based on the parents or care givers and baby’s needs and preferences.
